About
Curiosa presents "Other Lands Other Sounds 2026," an intensive residential course for collaborative cross-arts practice in Portugal. This twelve-day program, running from July 31 to August 11, 2026, brings together visual artists, musicians, and performers for collaborative creation at the Court of Cavalum, an 18th-century mansion near Porto. The program includes movement sessions, ensemble workshops, skill shares, field trips, creative briefs, and mentoring. Participants will co-create new works—performance, installation, sound, and movement—culminating in a promenade performance. The residency is open to artists working in music, visual arts, dance, theatre, performance, and live art. The fee of €1210 includes tuition, spaces, accommodation, and food, but not travel. Support is provided for those applying to Culture Moves Europe funding. There is one work exchange placement for documentation and one bursary for a local Portuguese artist. Applications have four deadlines: March 20th, April 17th, May 22nd, and June 19th, 2026.
