Residency at Hangar for Writers

Hangar offers a non-prescriptive, process-based residency program for writers in Lisbon, Portugal. The program encourages dialogue, exchange, and experimentation, allowing writers to develop projects in response to their environment or to conduct research benefiting from Lisbon’s resources. Hangar provides 7 living and work studios, with costs ranging from €1,000.00 to €1,400.00 per month. Residents are expected to participate in Artist Talks, Open Lectures, and Open Studio events to promote their work and create new contacts. The program aims to nurture interdisciplinary artistic research and promote international experiences in cultural fields, with a special focus on postcolonial or diasporic experience, history, memory, and the current global situation.
