About
Periplus Workshops offers a 12-day summer creative residency in the Rethymno region of Crete, Greece, from July 19-30, 2026. This program focuses on creative research, direct making, and social involvement, inviting designers, artists, architects, creatives, and performing artists. The residency provides a constantly open lab environment for thinking through making, experiential access to local identity, and a humanizing relationship with nature. The goal is to develop new approaches to creativity and help local communities address challenges by re-engaging with their natural and cultural environment. Accommodation is in shared ensuite rooms at the Anogeia Environmental Education Center. Disciplines include Design, Arts, Crafts, Architecture, Material Innovation, Curating, Visual Arts, Media Arts, Sustainability practice, Social Innovation, Exhibition Design, and Food Experience. Shared indoor and outdoor studios are available. The application deadline for early bird is April 30, 2026.
