About
Lungomare announces the second Open Call for Situated Creative Practices for the Pluriverse (SIT-PLU) for 2027. This call invites artists, curators, researchers, activists, designers, and transdisciplinary practitioners to apply for one of four year-long, situated, and site-specific residencies. The project is inspired by the Zapatista concept of the Pluriverse—"a world that encompasses many worlds"—and explores alternative ways of knowledge and coexistence. It emphasizes that current crises and socio-ecological challenges cannot be overcome with the same categories of thought that created them, positioning art and culture as central tools for new perspectives. The call seeks projects and ideas capable of activating sustainable and context-specific transformation processes, with a particular focus on practices that engage new audiences and contribute to building a dialogical and inclusive culture. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2027, at 23:59 CET.
