Open Call 2027

VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art and Carlow Arts Office announce an open call for exhibition proposals, which will result in a new project at VISUAL in September 2027. This collaboration marks 40 years of county arts officers supporting artists across Ireland. The winning application will receive time and resources to realize an ambitious exhibition, benefiting from curatorial, production, technical, and marketing support, as well as a significant production budget and an artist's fee. Shortlisted proposals will receive a fee for further development. The call is open to artists of all career stages, working in any media, locally, nationally, or internationally. Submissions can be in writing, video, or audio format, and must include examples of work, an outline of the proposal, and artist information. The deadline for submissions is Friday 22 May 2026 at 5pm GMT.
