About
Diriyah Art Futures (DAF) offers a one-year residency program for emerging new media artists, developed in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains. The program focuses on interdisciplinary creative practice at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Participants receive access to cutting-edge professional equipment, a production budget, and a wide range of multidisciplinary learning opportunities, including theoretical, conceptual, and technical seminars. Personal mentorship from prominent international digital and new media artists is provided. The residency also offers access to exhibition spaces, screenings, and dedicated technical labs for professional creation and innovative digital development. The program begins in October 2026 and culminates in a curated and juried exhibition at DAF in October 2027. The first three months focus on thematic and conceptual explorations through seminars, lectures, screenings, and workshops, covering topics related to digital technology and art in socio-cultural dynamics, environment, and cultural heritage. The following six months involve personalized mentorship and development of work using DAF labs, including advanced audio-visual techniques, immersive reality, coding, sensing, machine learning, and spatial audio-visual environments. Applicants should be 35 years or younger, at graduate or postgraduate completion stage, and have experience in new media and digital art.
