About
The Zeitz MOCAA & UWC Museum Fellowship Programme is a year-long pan-African initiative designed to nurture critical praxis and scholarly engagement in contemporary art, curatorial practice, art education, conservation, heritage, and museology in Africa and its diaspora. Fellows gain practical work experience and mentorship at Zeitz MOCAA across various departments, contributing to research, planning, execution, and management of exhibitions, publications, and educational initiatives. In parallel, fellows complete a postgraduate degree at UWC, undertaking coursework in historiography, curatorship, museology, and public history. The program culminates in a collaborative project and symposium. This fellowship is ideal for individuals interested in developing careers in art museums, galleries, art centers, and related fields. The program covers tuition, accommodation, basic health insurance, and a monthly stipend. Applicants must be citizens of an African country and proficient in English. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2026, and only the first 100 applications will be considered. Successful applicants will be contacted by August 3, 2026, for the program running from February 2027 to January 2028.
