- Open to artists based anywhere in the world, any stage of career. This residency is for individual artists or duos who have completed formal training in visual arts at the post-secondary level, or equivalent experience and recognition from their peers. Priority will be given to artists who have not attended a Visual Arts residency at Banff Centre in the past three years.

About
This visual arts residency at Banff Centre invites participants to critically engage with institutional, personal, fictional, and speculative archives. The program supports project-based studio practice through faculty-led activity and mentorship, focusing on conceptual thought, creative skills, and technical development. Artists are assigned individual studios with access to shared production facilities. Scholarships are available, covering tuition and a portion of meal and accommodation costs, with full coverage for Canadian Indigenous applicants. The program is open to individual artists or duos with formal training or equivalent experience in visual arts, with a preference for those who have not attended a Banff Centre Visual Arts residency in the last three years.
