- Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States and current legal residents of Virginia for at least 24 consecutive months prior to the application deadline (12 months for students). Professional artists must not be enrolled in a full-time degree-seeking program during the fellowship period. Graduate applicants must be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking graduate-level program for the entire Fall 2027/Spring 2028 academic year.
- What does Visual Arts Fellowships offer?
- Professional Individual: $8,000 award; Professional Collaborative: $8,000 award (to divide among collaborators); Graduate: $6,000 award; Undergraduate: $4,000 award; Half-Year Student: $3,000 (Graduate) / $2,000 (Undergraduate) award. The Cy Twombly Graduate Fellowship is a $6,000 award.
