About
The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (vA!) invites artists to its Artist-in-Residence Programme for the 2026–28 residency cycle. Located in Hong Kong Park's Cassels Block, a Grade I historic building, vA! offers specialist studios for ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, and experimental media. The program provides a transformative 6-month residency (September 2026 – February 2027 or September 2027 – February 2028) for deep research and experimentation. Artists receive a dedicated studio space, access to facilities, and financial support up to HKD 260,000 for artist fees, production, exhibition set-up, promotion, and outreach. An 8-month public exhibition (March – October 2027 or 2028) in light-drenched galleries is included, along with opportunities for cross-regional exchange. Residents are expected to conduct at least two public programs, such as workshops or talks, to engage with the community. The program welcomes Hong Kong-based artists aged 18 or above, who can apply individually or as a group of up to three members. Proposals should include a CV, documentation of previous artworks, a description of concepts for the residency, preliminary ideas for public programs, and a budget plan. Applications must be submitted by 9:00 p.m. (Hong Kong Time) on June 3, 2026.
