About
UmbigoLAB, in co-creation with the Casa de Mateus Foundation, announces an open call for an art residency in 2026. This edition focuses on the theme of Ecology, exploring cultural heritage and the natural environment in relation to the territory of Mateus and Vila Real. The residency is conceptually framed by the School of Transitions project and is part of the Art in the Landscape programme. The program aims to foster new dynamics in exhibition, dissemination, and communication within the contemporary art scene, providing fresh stimuli for artistic creation. The selection will be made by a jury including Liliana Coutinho, Matilde Seabra, and representatives from Umbigo Edições/Fundação Millennium bcp and Fundação da Casa de Mateus.
