Rotterdam Photo 2027: Vibrance - The Pulse of a Living World

Rotterdam Photo 2027, themed "Vibrance - The Pulse of a Living World," invites photographers to explore themes of energy, connection, and resilience in an era dominated by crisis narratives. The festival aims to be an international hub where diverse photographic practices converge, from documentary to experimental, analogue to digital, and image to installation. The curatorial structure is divided into five strands: Urban Rhythms, Fragile Vitality, Cultural Pulse, Digital Vibrance, and Inner Frequencies, offering an open constellation for artists to interpret the theme. The selection process involves a three-round evaluation by photography professionals, assessing artistic quality, social urgency, originality, visual language strength, photographic quality, and relevance to the festival theme.
