About
The Rotating AiRs program is a transnational residency and exhibition platform seeking artists whose practice engages with the intersections of colonialism and climate change. This multi-phased residency involves a global rotation, starting with a one-month visit to either Lubumbashi, Yogyakarta, or Mexico City, followed by two months each in European port cities: Hoorn, Antwerp, and Barcelona. The program aims to investigate the interrelations of colonialism and climate change from both European and external perspectives, culminating in an exhibition. Each artist receives an artist fee of €16,800 and a production budget of €3,000, with transport and accommodation provided. Applicants must be legally registered in an EU country and demonstrate an interest in the program's theme and specific starting/ending locations. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2026.
