About
La Capella, in collaboration with Hotel Maria Kapel (Hoorn, Holland) and Morpho (Antwerp, Belgium), presents Rotating AiRs, a call for international residencies and exhibitions. This project is rooted in decolonial thinking and an analysis of contemporary ecological and environmental crises, bringing together three art centers and cultural contexts with a strong colonial past. The program invites European artists to participate in four residencies between 2027 and 2028. Each artist will undertake a global itinerant residency, beginning with a month-long stay in Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo), Yogyakarta (Indonesia), or Mexico City. This initial phase is followed by two months in each of the European partner cities: Hoorn, Antwerp, and Barcelona, culminating in an exhibition. This structure ensures that the environmental impacts of colonialism are viewed from both European and external perspectives. An online information session will be held on April 8, 2026.
