About
Rotating AiRs is a transnational platform connecting European artists to different geographies, reflecting on the intersections of colonialism and climate change through artistic mobility. This program offers a global itinerant residency starting with a month-long site visit to a country historically colonized by Europeans (DR Congo, Indonesia, or Mexico), followed by further stages of creative process in the European harbor cities of Hoorn (Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), and Barcelona (Spain). This transnational approach aims to examine the environmental effects of European colonialism from both European and external perspectives. The residency culminates in an exhibition in the last city of the program. The jury comprises professionals from participating institutions including Hotel Maria Kapel, Morpho, La Capella, Picha Art Center, AKI AORA, and Cemeti Institute for Art and Society. An online information session is scheduled for April 8, 2026, to assist applicants.
