Professional Practice Program

The Art Students League of New York offers a nine-month Professional Practice program designed for serious professional artists. The program aims to help artists build skills and community to support a sustainable studio practice. Participants will engage in a colloquium led by artist Tommy White, who will act as a mentor, and will have opportunities to participate in critiques with and visit studios of well-known contemporary artists. The program also includes workshops on art marketing and business, led by field leaders, and a symposium for networking and addressing critical issues like finances, taxes, and art law. Artists will leave with an actionable career plan. The program requires a minimum commitment of 7 hours per week, mostly on-site.
