About
The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (vA!) is launching an open call for proposals for its "vA! Artist-in-Residence Programme" for the 2026-2028 residency cycle. Located in Hong Kong Park's Grade I historic building, Cassels Block, vA! offers specialist studios for ceramics, printmaking, and sculpture. The program invites Hong Kong artists to undertake a six-month residency, providing a dedicated studio space and access to vA!'s facilities for research and artistic creation across various mediums. Artworks created during the residency will have the opportunity for public display at vA!. Artists will also participate in public programs such as workshops, talks, and sharing sessions, and will have opportunities for cross-regional exchange and collaboration with other resident artists. The program welcomes applications from artists aged 18 or above, holding valid Hong Kong identity cards and primarily based in Hong Kong. Applicants can apply individually or as a group of up to three members, proposing forward-looking and exploratory projects. Each applicant or group may submit one proposal along with the application form by 9 p.m. on June 3, 2026, to vA! (7A Kennedy Road, Central) by post or by hand. Selected applicants will be announced tentatively in August on the vA! website.
