About
The Asociación de Arte Útil invites submissions for case studies at the intersection of useful art (Arte Útil) and technology. Arte Útil focuses on art that moves beyond representation to effect social change through real implementation. The call seeks projects that propose new uses for art, challenge their fields, respond to urgencies, operate on a 1:1 scale, replace authors with initiators and spectators with users, have practical benefits, pursue sustainability, and re-establish aesthetics as a system of transformation. Selected projects will be added to the open-source Arte Útil archive and presented at the UN_CTRL: Festival for Convivial Technologies and Art, organized by ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. Submissions can be made by anyone, including project initiators, and will be evaluated by the Asociación de Arte Útil.
