About
Gaada invites Shetland-based artists to apply for a self-directed, artist-led research and development residency in Bergen, Norway, during 2027. This opportunity is part of Brig∂i, Gaada’s ongoing program to foster creative exchange between artists in Shetland and Norway, aiming to reposition Shetland as a central point in North Atlantic cultural conversation. The residency provides financial support for travel, accommodation, subsistence, materials, and an artist fee, along with a budget for public sharing of the experience in Shetland. Mentoring and critical support from Gaada are also provided, with optional support from partner Pamflett in Bergen. Applicants should submit a short proposal outlining their interest in working in Norway, what they hope to explore, and any potential connections, along with a bio/CV and up to 5 images or links of their practice.
