Eligibility: Open to NAEA members with at least one year of continuous membership prior to application (since October 2025 for the October 1, 2026 deadline). State/province associations and NAEA-recognized special issues groups are also eligible. NAEA members cannot apply on behalf of their employing nonprofit organization or institution.

About

The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) offers grants to NAEA members for proposals focusing on themes and ideas for research in visual arts education. NAEF encourages submissions that investigate the impact and importance of arts education in student learning and provide data to support findings. The application for the 2027-2028 grant cycle will open in August 2026, with proposals due by October 1, 2026.
