About
The Frans Masereel Centrum is hosting an open call for its 2027 Development Residency, offering three residency periods of six weeks each in April-May, August-October, and October-December 2027. This program provides artists with accommodation in an individual mini-apartment and access to a professionally equipped printmaking studio. Technical guidance and support are available on weekdays, along with basic materials like proofing paper and ink. The residency includes a dialogue-based program, and partners and children are welcome at no extra cost. Applicants are required to submit an artist statement, a clearly formulated artistic proposal, a motivation letter, a recent portfolio, and a concise CV. Applications are assessed by a selection committee based on the quality of work, the significance of the proposal, and the applicant's motivation. Residents are expected to participate in an informal presentation of their work and contribute up to three works to the MASEREEL collection.
