About
Creative Australia funds a three-month residency at HIAP in Helsinki for Australian artists and arts workers. This program provides time, space, and resources for open-ended artistic research, experimentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, without requiring the production of a finished artwork. The residency is based on Suomenlinna island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Helsinki. While mainly focusing on visual arts, the program welcomes applicants working in community arts, cultural development, dance, emerging and experimental arts, First Nations arts and culture, literature, music, and theatre. Selected participants receive $15,000 for the residency period.
