FdR*27 - Festival der Regionen Open Call

The Festival der Regionen (FdR*27) invites artists, cultural initiatives, and individuals with cultural, social, ecological, and political commitment to submit project ideas for its 2027 edition. The festival will take place from June 11 to 20, 2027, along the Danube upstream from Linz, with Aschach an der Donau as the main festival center. For the first time, the festival will focus on a body of water, the Danube, as a venue for artistic projects and a figure of thought for movement and interventions. The festival theme, “Eintauchen / Diving Deeper,” explores water as a political entity, connecting and changing landscapes, economies, and societies. Projects should consider the river not merely as a backdrop but as a protagonist in social, political, and ecological negotiations, delving into the interplay of people, animals, plants, and micro-organisms. The Program Board, responsible for curation, will select and provide curatorial supervision for the projects. The deadline for submitting project ideas is April 30, 2026.
