About
The Edvard Munch’s Studios foundation offers a studio residency for professional artists at Ekely in Oslo. The residency provides an apartment with a spacious 32 m² studio featuring large north-facing windows and a skylight, along with an integrated apartment including two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom, garden, and terrace (total 102 m²). Two residency periods are available for application in 2026: February–March (8 weeks) and July–September (12 weeks). Professional artists needing to work in Oslo can apply, with the option to bring family or apply as a group of up to three artists. Residents commit to participating in a public event during their stay, such as an artist talk or open studio. The program includes a monthly stipend of NOK 3,000 and covers travel costs up to NOK 5,000 per period. The application deadline is December 10, 2026, at 5 PM Norwegian time.
