About
The Bastille Art Prize, sponsored by Galerie Bessaud in Paris, aims to discover and promote talented, lesser-known artists on the international contemporary scene. This prize is open to all amateur and professional artists, without age or nationality restrictions, working in various disciplines including drawing, engraving, installation, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and decorative arts. Applicants must create a candidate space online, upload a PDF portfolio detailing their artistic approach, biographical elements, and a presentation of their works with technical details, and pay a €29 registration fee. The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2026. A diverse jury, comprising curators, collectors, journalists, and other professionals, will select five winners based on criteria such as originality, quality of execution, innovation, coherence, and emotional impact. The five selected winners will be represented by Galerie Bessaud in a group exhibition from January to February 2027, where their works will be exhibited and sold, with shared revenue. Galerie Bessaud will cover all costs related to the exhibition's preparation, opening, communication, and creation of mediation materials.
