About
BASE ✺ Before Form is a five-day artistic residency and retreat focused on memory, territory, and autoethnography as fields for artistic exploration and research. Located in the mountains near Valencia, Spain, it offers a space to reconnect with one's practice, fostering creative agitation, community, rest, and attention. The program includes site-specific walks, body-based activations, observation practices, writing sessions, reflective spaces, and one-on-one mentoring. It aims to help participants identify creative blocks, expand their language, and situate their work within broader contexts. The residency takes place at Masía La Toba, a restored rural house with natural surroundings and access to a clear-water river.
