About
AVISTAVULCÃO is offering a one-month artist-in-residence program in March 2027, focused on research and creation on the island of Faial, near the Capelinhos Volcano in the Azores, Portugal. The residency encourages projects that engage with the landscape, memory, local history, and contemporary challenges of peripheral regions, with themes such as geological time, transformation, and isolation. Artists will have opportunities to meet local stakeholders and engage with the community, culminating in a public presentation. The residency provides a daily allowance, travel allowance, and various top-ups for green mobility, visas, outermost regions, families, and accessibility.
