The Communication Arts 2027 Typography Competition celebrates the best use of typography as the primary visual element in design and advertising, including new typeface designs, calligraphy, and hand lettering. Eligible projects must have been first published or produced between September 2025 and September 2026. A jury of leading design professionals selects the winning entries, which are then distributed worldwide in the *Communication Arts* Typography Annual, both in print and digital editions, and featured on commarts.com. Each winner receives a personalized Award of Excellence, milled from solid aluminum, and award certificates. AI text-to-image generated submissions are not accepted.
