About
The Long Island Arts Alliance's Scholar-Artist Awards recognize outstanding Long Island high school seniors who excel in both the arts and academics. Each year, 40 students are selected: 20 Scholar-Artist Award recipients and 20 Merit Award recipients. Scholar-Artist Award recipients receive a published profile in Newsday, a $500 scholarship, and recognition at an awards ceremony. Merit Award recipients are recognized at the ceremony and included in a group photo. Applications must be initiated by a teacher, school administrator, or arts educator, not by students or parents. Schools may nominate one student per discipline each year.
