About
1708 Gallery is accepting applications for the third year of its pilot Artist Residency Program, open to artists within a 600-mile radius of Richmond, Virginia. The residency provides a free, two-month live/work space from November 2026 through August 2027, including a furnished apartment with a full kitchen and two bathrooms. Residents will receive a $1250 monthly stipend, access to basic equipment and supplies, and support for a public program such as an artist talk or open studio. The program seeks artists working towards a specific outcome and willing to provide feedback to help shape the future full residency program. Applicants must be 21 years or older, and a $10 application fee applies.
