## Description

Dieu Donné offers its 2027 Workspace Residency to emerging New York metropolitan area-based visual artists. The program focuses on experimentation and collaboration, providing three artists the opportunity to explore paper pulp as an artistic medium. Residents will work with master collaborators to explore hand papermaking and develop it as a contemporary art form. The residency includes an introduction to hand papermaking, six days in the studio with a dedicated collaborator, and a $600 stipend. All standard pulp and papermaking equipment is provided. The residency concludes with a group exhibition in Dieu Donné’s Jordan Schnitzer Gallery or a partner venue. Applicants must be emerging visual artists residing in the New York metropolitan area, and be U.S. citizens or have the right to lawfully work in the U.S. Students enrolled in degree programs are not eligible. No prior papermaking experience is required, and artists from all disciplinary and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
