## Description

The Visual Arts Thematic – Future Figurations Residency invites artists to research, imagine, and create possible selves and worlds, exploring concepts of embodied futurity through speculative futures, science-fiction, myth-making, and world-building. The program considers futurity as an anti-oppressive and restorative force, decolonizing ideas of the body. Participants will be mentored by faculty, including Rajni Perera and Marigold Santos, through research, experimentation, and hands-on learning. The residency supports conceptual thought, creative skills, technical skills, and professional development through discussions and workshops. Scholarships are available, including full coverage for Canadian Indigenous participants.
