## Description

The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is an international artist residency located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland. It offers an inspiring and peaceful setting for artistic development and creative work in a culturally and historically significant rural environment. Professional artists and artistic workgroups from all disciplines are welcome to apply, with priority given to interdisciplinary, new, and non-mainstream approaches. The residency's philosophy is grounded in ecological thinking, emphasizing environmental, social, and psychological sustainability. Individual residencies are two months long, hosting five artists per period, and include accommodation, a workspace, and a monthly grant. Group residencies (2–4 weeks) are available during the summer. The residency carries no obligations such as exhibitions or performances. In 2027, a major renovation will affect operations, with individual artists working in their apartments and fewer residency places available.
