## Description

ARTIS – Institute of Art History, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, is hosting an international conference titled "Historicizing Global Contemporary Art Markets: Trajectories, Infrastructures, and Regimes of Value." The conference aims to critically examine the major transformations in contemporary art markets since the late twentieth century, focusing on the accelerated developments of the twenty-first century. It will explore the globalization of artistic circuits, new market geographies, the expansion of art fairs and biennials, and the entanglement of art with finance, technology, and luxury industries. The event also invites reflection on the increased visibility of historically marginalized artists and the persistence of inequalities within the art world. Applicants should submit a proposed title, an abstract of 200–400 words, and a short academic bio of 150–200 words.
